Has anyone ever heard what sounds like the fan running on the lowest speed when the car is turned off, immediately after the car is turned off (but no air is coming out of the vents)? And, it isn't when the fan runs to remove condensate. It does eventually go off. We had our battery go bad on us tonight, and I noticed the fan sound. I had heard the same sound once before when I was working on the inside of the car with the doors open for a while, and it ran the battery down. Charged it up, and all was well. This time the battery tested bad, so I replaced it. When we tried to start it and realized the battery was dead, we heard the fan noise. AAA jumped it off and I picked up new battery, replaced it at home, left it disconnected for over 5 minutes, then put the new battery in. Everything seems to be normal. And the low fan noise is still there.
Thanks!
UPDATE: I mentioned the fan noise does go off. When you open the door and sit down, before you start the car, the fan noise starts. So, it doesn't run all the time. Could this be part of the climate control system sampling the air to set the temperature before you start the car??????

I've have one that does that also. I've had mine for 3 and half yrs and it always is doing it. I've stopped the car to park up whilst waiting for my partner whos gone off shopping etc, as Im sat in the motor it just starts this fan noise (BUT IT ISNT THE FAN MOTOR) as no air flow is detected at any of the vents. It's never caused battery problems for me thou. I've also heard it come on if I've been washing the car and have the keys in the ignation, (but not turned past num one position) fan sound stops and starts never found out what it was thought it might be something to do with the climate control?
sorry i cannot offer any help, just thought i'd let you know your not alone with this matter.

It's called afterblow feature, if you don't want to have your AC cleaned out, have the dealer turn it the function off.
(I've never had a problem with it)

I assume that you are confused about a very silent fan sound running for some minutes after you switched off the ignition. It is just a small fan like in your laptop. It is a fan blowing air over the thermostate for the cabin temperature, to make the ECC to be prepared for correct temperature. You can see the small intake close to the cigarette lighter.
