Generator Warning Light

Hello, my generator warning light illuminates for the first 1-3 minutes after I start my car and begin driving. Are there any simple fixes that I can check before taking it in to my volvo repairman? Thanks

Check the serpentine belt tension. I doubt that that is the problem since you didn't say the power steering was screeching at you but it is worth a look. Most of the chain auto parts stores can test the alternator with it in the car for free.
