Need to replace 2003 S60 front wheel hubs

Post by 35cents »

Any help on replacing the front wheel hubs on a 2003 S60 2.4T? The dealer says they are both going out - one makes a lot of noise, the other a little. The car only has 58K, I've never seen this failure on any car with that mileage (maybe a Chevy with 150K!) It doesn't look too difficult - if anyone has any tips (or instructions), please let me know, the dealer wants over $400 to do each one. Thanks much!

Let me recommend you use these guys...for what you're buying, your shipping will be free and these things weigh some: http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/PartDeta ... id=8672371

Here's the how-to. Read through it and decide if you're up to it or not:

I do not think that it is a tough job with the right tools to replace the hub. I have done a couple.

I would recommend that you be careful with eeuroparts. I bought a AC evaporator from them for my V70 and it did not fit. Theirs was one row short compared to OEM and the input tube had no support. It would not fit period. When I wanted to get my money back Dean at eeuroparts told me that since it had been more than 30 days that there was no refunds but he would give credit towards a OEM one for about U$300 or so. So I have an evaporator that would not fit in my V70 and was down for a week until I got a new OEM one from Swedish Engineering for less than U$200 and is exact match. I will not buy for these again cause I am not sure if there parts are going to work.
