2001 V70 broken rear window washer nozzle

Post by bobd324 »

on my 2001 V70 the rear window squirter nozzle broke off while cleaning off our last snow / ice storm, now you can squirt the car following you. the nozzle comes through the shaft that the wiper arm bolts to at the bottom of the window. Can anyone tell me what is involved to replace it, i have a new one already. it seems the inside of the rear hatch will need to be removed, how easy is this? it is going to get up to 40 degrees today so it wont be bad for working outside, it hasnt been above 12 in a few days. thanks bobd

Same thing happened to our V70 (actually the guy at Auto Zone broke ours trying to fit a new wiper blade- which I found is an only dealer item, so AZ paid for it)...but it wasn't bad at all to replace. If I remember correctly, the round rubber piece that is against the glass that the nozzle protrudes through only covers a bolt there. Pull back the rubber piece and undo the bolt...the rest is self explanatory if you've gone this far- I didn't have to unto the piece inside the tail gate at all. Of course, ours was only broken at the tip (part #30634270). If yours is broken off all the way, then you will have to take the panel off in the rear to feed the larger nozzle out of the motor unit (the longer nozzle is part #8624235) and replace it. If the later is the case, post back and I'll try to look up the instructions for you in VADIS.

I didnt know the nozzle was 2 pieces, mine was broken off flush with the the end of the wiper shaft. I had already bought an aftermarket nozzle from e-europarts so after reading your post i pulled it apart and realised how it worked. with mine broken flush i took a very small sheet metal screw and threaded it inside the broken plastic "shaft" and pulled out the complete outside half, then compared what i removed to the new piece to make sure i had all of it. I just put the new part in and tried it and it works great!!! :D thank you, bobd
