2004 xc wagon has squeak near the drive shaft area

i have a 2004 volvo xc wagon w/95,000 miles and i have an occassional squeak....my volvo mechanic has looked at it 2 x, and we just seem to figure it out...so here i am asking for help from all you smart people out there that may have come across this. the squeak is coming from around the rear joint near the driveshaft and vibration damper(or is it dampner? ) everything looks good in this area. no slip on any parts, no leaks or grease on anything. we put it on the lift and will put the car in gear and it will squeak only now and then,he has also have just turned the wheels by hand...just an occasional squeak. very annoying. anything anyone has to offer would be great.
