my moon roof started rattling when i close door, even without being used lately?

Have you adjusted it all in the past. Perhaps you have a loose screw of bracket?

On mine, the reinforcement bar came off of the glass and fell down into the roof. I retracted the roof and found the bar laying loose inside. I just took it out and stuck it in the trunk. I haven't tried to glue it back yet. So far, no ill effects and the rattling is gone.

There's a technical service bulletin from Volvo on this, TNN83-32, although there isn't a lot of detail. Basically, the screws on the side of the window come loose. They recommend new screws (p/n 973155) and new washers (120085) and retorque to 5Nm. Probably a little locktite would work just fine. Mine rattles, too, just haven't got to it yet.

You can subscribe to alldatadiy.com to get the bulletins, and other info. I'm sure there's other services around, it's just the first one I came across, and the price isn't too bad.
