clunking sound after changing strut 2002 S40
We've had several front end problems. We've changed the passenger side half shaft and now the strut, strut mount bearing, and spring seat. I didn't change the strut mount itself. When I inspected the strut mount, I found the the piece through which the strut shaft protrudes and the top nut attaches will turn slide around and turn. Is that supposed to happen? We no longer have the vibration we had before the strut job, but we still have a clunking whenever we hit a bump.

I think you might need a new strut mount.
