'99 S80 T6 Alarm triggering randomly every day?

Post by Watch Casio »

Recently had the cooling fan replaced in my '99 S80 T6 (recall). Since that day my alarm system seems to trigger randomly, sometimes even when the car is left "unlocked" and not touched.

It appears that sometimes the doors lock and unlock themselves automatically (but not always) and thus the alarm is triggered.

Anyone have any idea as to what to try before heading to the dealer? Clean hood sensor? Check for faulty door lock units? Other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Does it always happen in one place? What I'm getting at is a neighbor with a similar frequency remote, or other device, that's doing it.

But if it just started after a part replacement that would be a bit of a coincedence I suppose. Maybe water got into something under the hood that it shouldn't have?

The triggering of the alarm doesnt seem isolated to one particluar area. It seems to happen each time I stop and park somewhere. Someone on another site recommended opening and closing the hood a few times as the hood sensor might be out of whack. I am trying this tonite.
