A couple of questions for you 240 enthusiasts

Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum. My name is Ian and I'm the proud owner of a midnight blue 1990 240 DL sedan with a manual tranny. It currently sits at 360,000 km.

Anyway...here are my questions:

1) Does anybody know if the rear taillight lenses from a 1991 760 would fit a 1990 240?? I found a mint pair on a 760 at a salvage yard but can't get a straight answer on whether or not they'll fit.

2) Has anybody on here ever swapped the headlights from an '86-'93 240 with the "double" headlights from an '81-'85 model?? I've never been fond of the large, composite style headlights of the later ones and would love to replace them.

Any and all advice/help is much appreciated. Thanks!!!

1. The last 760 was 1990 but the 1991 740 lights were the same. As is often said on this forum nearly anything will fit onto anything if you have the time and know how. Looking at pictures from VADIS for the two lights there are obvious differences which will necessitate some remodelling of either the light or the bodywork. The 7 series light is longer than the 2 series, leaving less room between left and right lights, and wraps around at the inner end as well as the outer. The outer wrap around on the 7 series is vertical whereas the 2 series is at an angle.

2. We didn't have the 4 headlight setup in the UK but I have read that this job is also possible if you are prepared to remodel the grille, the front bumper and, possibly, the leading edges of both front wings.
