V70 Headlamps keep burning out Topic is solved

I have been going through headlamp bulbs on my 2001 V70 about every 3 - 4 months, sometimes even sooner. I have tried several different brands, but the best seem to last only 4 months before filament burn out.
Anybody else experience this problem? Is it commom/normal?

These bulbs burn very hot. If you touch the glass bulb the oil on your hand will cause pre-mature failure. When you get a new bulb use a pair of disposable latex gloves to install it. If you do touch the bulb clean it with 95% or better alcohol.

If you have been following the above recomendations and you are blowing bulbs I would suspect the line voltage to be excessive and check that out.

Something's rattling around in my brain about a service bulletin for headlight wiring harnesses on either 850s or S70s... they were causing bulbs to burn out rapidly. I'd call a local Volvo dealer and find out. I tried searching govt. website just now but no luck.
