I had a Linux pro do some work on the server this afternoon, and when he rebooted it the nameserver component stopped working.
Then he fixed that, then it was a wait for the server's numerical IP address to once again pair with "matthewsvolvosite.com" at the big controller servers around the internet.

Lee, the server runs a Linux flavor called CentOS. I'm no Linux expert (obviously!), but I think it's more of a server variant. For desktop use, I'd head straight to http://www.ubuntu.com/ Ubuntu.
It's free and you can burn and boot from an Ubuntu CD. That means you can try it out before taking the time/disc space of a regular installation.
For those using XP/Vista, I suggest both the free AVG and the free Clamwin to protect your PC from viruses. I use both at the same time on my XP install.
