Need to prepare my 1990 740 for a smog in 4 weeks.

It has 228,000 miles on it and barely passed the last smog test 2 years ago.

Any advise and tips on what I can do to give my car a better chance of passing in about a month?

First make sure you have the correct owners manual in the glove box. If there is any question about what the car should or shouldn't have it can be a reference. If there is a difference between the smog mechanics guide and the owners manual they are suppose to go with the manual. But is has to be the correct manual!

Second make sure all the hoses are intact. Vacuum hose, air intake tubes from the manifold, anything of that nature.

If the car runs well it should pass, if it doesn't run well, maybe it's time for some repair first?
