location of code connector 94-940

I have a scanner & list of codes for the 1994 940 non turbo, but can't find the connector location to hook up code reader. Anyone with knowledge of location, would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

I'm not sure this is what you're after but please read on.

If its anything like my 91 740 (which is the shape of a 940) the diagnostic unit is a little black plastic box, located under the bonet on the left hand side, right up the back of the engine bay, near the identification plate.

I think there are 6 ports, you will be using port 2 for on board diagnosis (scanner not required). I suggest you purchase a manual for the vehicle as this will also include the instructions.

I wouldn't know how to use a scanner (or what exactly it is) but maybe its a case of using the other ports on the diagnostic unit. In this case you will probably require a real Volvo issue manual.

There is a risk that the 740 may be different to the 940.
