DAy-time running lights

Post by deckcorn »

Day-time running lights: S60. How can I turn them off without a pricy visit to my volvo dealer? Anyone?

You can't. And now Volvo dealers won't even do it.

Why do you want them off?

because I'm one of those who prefer to use their headlights when I want to rather than when my car chooses to

The dealer will program them for you that way (not in Canada). Call around and find one that will do it before wasting a trip.

Yup, count on $30 software d/l (they'll need to download the correct "headlight application" on certain cars--not all, some simply require a change to the CEM's programming) and at least 1/2 hour labor (usually 1).

But yes, here in the US it is possible (and legal) to have them disable DRLs.

There are three options on setting the DRLs: no DRLs (flex std), DRL beams (flex zero), and full lights (flex low). You want "Low Beam Application #2" which is for "flex standard"

There is NO software involved to turn off the DRL's.
I repeat
NO SOFTWARE, it a 5 minute adjustment
