99 C70 T5m Xemodex ETM throwing codes p0121 and p1238

Post by kingcong412 »

Frustrated here.

I've got a 99 Volvo C70 T5M I have upgraded to the Xemodex ETM and IPD HD TCV. I'm throwing codes P0121 and P1238 after a little hard driving and the problem effects drivability. The throttle is touchy and I can't seem to get descent boost.

My question is : WTF is going on!!

Can p1238 cause P0121?? I'm stumped. In research P0121 is typically the ETM, and P1238 is the TCV...but I thought that would have been solved with the Xemodex and IPD parts. I've replaced all hoses, vacuum lines, and turbo control lines w/ silicone ones. Replaced the MAF. Could the MAP sensor be a culprit? Do I have a wiring issue? Does the Xemodex ETM need to go back? I haven't read of anyone with the same two codes simultaneously. HELP!

It might be your IPD TCV. I know they've had several problems with them.

I agree- doesn't sound like the fault of your new ETM rebuild.
Call Lucky or Scott and talk to them- some were faulty- others can be adjusted (TCV). I have them on 2 of my cars and love them!
