ECT code thrown, randomly dies! 2nd time to replace ECT :(

Post by dville_gt »

Well, I have dont a lot of work on this car lately, radiator, waterpump, all coolant hoses, thermo, ect sensor, timing belt, idler, tensioner, drive belt, and plugs.

The car threw a code for the coolant not heating as it expected or something, aka ECT code, and threw the fans on all the time. I got another replacement (non-geniune volvo) ect sensor and reset the code, it stayed away for a bit but now its back, fans are on, and it randomly dies at lights.

Any ideas?

Install a genuine Volvo sensor?

Make sure the connection is clean and tight. Check the wiring to the sensor.
