Rearview Mirror replacement

Post by egoodwin »

Hey,

Does anyone know how to replace the rearview mirror on a 98 V70. I accidently broke mine off the other day and need to get it back on somehow. There is the plastic casing around where it attaches and I don't know how to get this off either so I can have a better look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Eric

Eric, I imagine you must have fixed it by now but, just in case you haven't:- Use a small screwdriver to remove both the lenses from the roof lights (see 'Bulb Replacement' in the Driver's Manual) In each aperture so revealed you will then see a small screw near the bulb. Remove these. It's a year or two since I did it but from then on it was self evident what to do. The wiring for the roof lights unplugs and the plastic cover/surround just clips off the roof lining. There are then a couple of screws to remove the rear view mirror. My mirror broke on the ball swivel. To stop it happening again I lubricate once in a while. Don't let it get hard to adjust.
