The ac switch on the dash of my '92 240 had been intermittently turning the ac on. The blower switch(knob) is fine, works on all 4 settings. In the past, when I would switch the "rocker" style ac switch to cool, it would sometimes come on, sometimes not, in which case i could switch off and back on, and it would come come on, after a few times. Now, it won't switch on at all. When I turn it to the cool position, the compressor doesn't fire up. Could this be a short in the switch?
If so, any info on how to get that switch out to replace it?
Thanks,
Daryl

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
It could well be a faulty switch. Most of the rocker switches on the 240 can be prised out using a piece of thin, stiff plastic or, if you are very careful, a small screwdriver.
Bill.
