S60 Timing Belt Replacement

Post by Mandrake »

I had my timing belt replaced at 103k miles on my 01 S60 T5 by Volvo. After reading about the tensioner failures after the 150k mark. I went back and reviewed my receipt to see if Volvo replaced it, which they didn't. So as a safety precaution I am going to have a local shop do the belt again along with the accessory belt, idler, tensioner, and water pump. My question is, does anything need to be reprogrammed by Volvo after it is done. I'm pretty sure the answer will be no due to the fact that all the parts replaced are strictly mechanical, but I thought I'd ask before I let a local shop do the work. Also is their anything else I should replace while doing the service? Thanks Mike.

No re-programming- You'll be fine.
I can't believe they at least didn't change out the mechanical tensioner. That's a really big NO NO.
