About three months ago I had to drive through some high water. About a month after that I started noticing after I stop or almost come to a stop and then begin to accelerate, I hear a thump or knock (most noticibly directly on the gas pedal). Once I get up past 20 mph or so, I don't notice it. I have a little over 49000 miles on my car and don't really drive it that much (except on a long trip-usually though only drive it 20 mi. or less two or three times a month). After a few miles and the car has warmed up, the thump becomes a little more pronounced after each acceleration and I can feel it a little in the steering wheel but its always just one "thump". When turning and accelerating, I get no thump-only when driving straight ahead.
thanks,
alan smith

Welcome to MVS... when you went through the water, you might have warped a rotor... or somehow messed up your e-brake. Get that checked out.
