2002 Volvo S40 computer reset help-how long does it take?

so I went to do SMOG check and it didn't pass becuz of the fault code: P0128. I went ahead and replaced the thermostat and new coolant and then the "check engine" light disappeared. I went back to the SMOG place and the technician told me it still wouldn't pass because I need to drive some miles for the car computer to reset everything. I drove for about 70 miles on the highway and came back. Technician then took out a sensor tester type of thing and plugged into the car and it shows that 2 out of 5 lights are still "incomplete". Technician told me that Volvo car takes very long miles to reset the computer for it to be ready to re-SMOG.

Anyone know how long does it usually take for the car computer to be ready? or Any way I can make it ready faster?

I need to get the SMOG done before I leave the country (on Wed.)....it's really annoying and bothering me.

Just disconnect the battery for 10 mlnutes.
