Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
Hey guys I just bought a 97 850 T-5 that unfortunately has what seems to be a vacuum leak. The car will stall when not in gear and has acceleration issues. The turbo never really spools up and the boost gauge needle only ever touches the tip of the white "driving hard" indicator. From what I've been able to tell this would be the results of a vacuum leak but feel free to enlighten me if not.
The question I have now is what can I do to replace the vacuum line? Where can I go to get some and are there any specs I should know?
Sounds more like a disconnected or damaged turbo hose. Look at the diagram on this page: http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/p ... ory_id/215
The red hoses are the rubber ones and the blue the hard plastic ones. Check all the clamps on this system and then look for tears or breaks. BTW the hose sold for $45 by FCP Groton does cost over $100 at the dealer!
