1993 940

Post by mgmoehn »

Hey all, I have a 1993 940 with 225,000 miles on it (non-turbo). I am reaching the end of this car as I look to graduate college in a couple months and get a newer Volvo. So I was wondering what it would take to do a new air intake, exhaust manifold, turbo charger, intercooler, and exhaust system and maybe a few extras. I want to have some fun with it on it's last year or so... the car is rock solid, and has a minor tranny issue with the shifting not properly timed (think it's due to something electrical as it is an automatic, works great I just shift it with my foot just like a manual).
Don;t have a lot of money to throw down on it but what would you think it would cost to make this grandpa a stud?

I would think for what you are looking to do, it would be around 2 grand depending on what you go with.

As for the transmission shifting issue, take a look at you kick down cable. It is connected to the throttle body and if it is to tight, it will shift late.

Oh, I was thinking more like new parts or rebuilt parts. If you are going junk yard, then yes, it would be much cheaper.
