S80 T6 2002 - Fixing Recalls and TSBs

Post by ldbvolvo »

Hey All ..

I just purchased an S80 T6, and I am seeing all the
recalls and TSBs related to it. Are the dealers required
to address and fix these issues without a significant
service fee?

Thank you ...

Hey bud.. I am looking at buying a 2001 S80 T6 and have a question. How familiar are you with the T6. The owner says it is blowing white smoke out the exhaust because of a bad P.C.V.Valve and repairs could cost up to $800.00 Tha car runs good but smokes badly. Any ideas? any experience on this?

Recalls, yes. TSBs, maybe not. I suggest you call your local dealer with your VIN and ask them what needs to be done and how much it will cost.

Try the oil trap and it's hoses. The oil trap is located under the intake on the left side, it's about 4 inches wide by 2 inches deep by 6 inches long.
Also check the intake vacuum lines attached to the left hand underside of
the intake. It's a banjo style fitting with 2 quarter inch hoses and one smaller hose, make sure that the smaller hose is open (use a piece of wire or air hose), the 2 larger hoses are actually water hoses to keep the banjo fitting warm. Go figure? How's the oil consumption? ...trol-53
