QUESTION ABOUT DIGNOSTIC ON MY XC 90
Ok I was hit by a jeep in August. The insurance company has now told me that the master cylinder has gone out on my car. Well thats happened since they have had, but ne way. They want me to have a diagnostic done showing that the break damage was caused by the accident. Does anyone know how or what the diagnostic will show? I though the diagnostic was run on the computer system of my XC90? The master cylinder is not part of the computer system or I may be wrong! Any help would be wonderful!!!

There are two sensors attached to the bottom of your brake master cylinder, these work with the DSTC system. The master cylinder itself is mechanical. A true diag will check the computer for codes, and the master cylinder for problems the old fashion way. I doubt the master itself would have failed due to an accident, but the two sensors on the bottom could have been damaged. With some tricky wording, they could maybe link it to the accident.
