It sounds like the CD player you have is going to need to be replaced. When a CD becomes stuck inside and will not eject, the entire unit will have to be changed out with a new or exchange one from Volvo. If you purchase a new player from us we will send in your old player and request to have Volvo take out your the CD while they have it apart. Then we will ship it back to you! If you have any questions please send an email with your vin number.

I have the same problem in my V50. As the player tries to read the disc there is a very irritating short whirring sound every 5 seconds or so. I have tried to get into the cd slot using a putty knife to even just get a visual on the cd, but without any success.

Is the cd raised or lowered and is it possible to force the cd out? I don't mind if I brake the cd player as it sounds like it will have to be replaced anyway, but at least I will be able to stop the whirring noise.

Thanks in advance.

Please don't break the CD player!! There is a core charge on the player!! If it is damaged by you trying to repair it or do anything to it, you may not be able to use it as a core when it comes time to replace it. The core charge is $300 if it is damaged! Be careful.
