02 V70 2,4 D AND TUNING

Post by Djin-Sweden »

I have a 2002 V70 2,4 Automatic with 130 Hp. If I Chip/tuning my car, then I will get 30/35 Hp extra.
Is tuning safe for my car ?
Can I do this without damaging the engine, automatic and so one.?

My local Volvo dealer is not familiar with tuning/chipping and he will not
recommend it ?

The engine should handle it with no problem. The week link in previous models was the transmission. If I were to pump up the rngine performance I would incrase the service schedule on the transmission and be prepared to replace it if it failed.

I have a peformance tune on my F150 pickup and Porsche 944 T. I didn't do it on the 850 because of the cost (chip was not available and whole computer needed reflashing). On the 2 with the performance tune it has made a drastic differance. If I could have gotten by for less than $400 I probably would have had it done on the 850.
