V70 2.4 2006 Speed sensitive steering - present or not ?

V70 2.4
18.8k miles (bought used at 12.3k miles, 05/09)
manufactured in Torslanda

Is there a way to identify (e.g. by VIN) if this car is equipped with
Speed Sensitive Power Steering ?

Yes Adam you can tell by the vin. There is no certain part of the vin that will tell you, it has to be looked up. If you look at the rack itself, a speed related one will have a large electrical plug right in the middle, standard will have no plug.

1. I looked for the plug (inside the cabin, I assume) and didn't find it.
2. VIDA spits out: "Steering gear, standard" for Stearing gear entry.
I guess no speed-sensitive steering then
