Strut tower brace.

Post by BIG DOG »

I have the ability to make my own strut braces but what I don't have is what the distance between the strut braces is.Meaning I believe that the struts would have tipped in at the top some over the years. So if I was to install them now they would keep the car from going any farther and also add the strength but maybe they need to be forced out to put them in the correct place where is that place?Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!

It is really not worth making your own strut brace. You can get the nice new OBX V2 strut brace on eBay for 50 bucks shipped.

Make them pretty cheap don't they! For me it's not really about the price . I get myself too involved in my projects sometimes I end up making stuff that I could have bought cheaper. But I get satisfaction from saying I made that.

I've heard the Volvo OEM strut brace from the C70 convertible is a good choice for an 850. Can anyone confirm this? Is there a particular year C70 that makes the best choice?
