V 70 XC 2000 won't start

My 2000 V70 XC has been sluggish to start a few times recently, and now I can't start it at all. This morning I tried to start it. It cranked for about three seconds and then stopped. Now, when I try, all I get is what I think is the solenoid clicking, but no cranking. Any suggestions?

How is the voltage in your battery? You battery could be shot.

Thanks. Yes, battery voltage is fine. At least I've got strong lights, radio, etc. Don't have a voltmeter right now to check it.
