Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2000 S80 with a 4T65E transmission is in failsafe,P1618 and P0751 codes.I know P0751 is a shift solenoid code but I can't find a definition for P1618.

The p1618 code means that you have a trouble code in another module. My guess is that the p code (which is an engine trouble code) is indicating a problem with another component of the car (i.e. the transmission).

It seems that they use the P1618 code frequently in addition with another code... The P0756 code, for example pops up and then immediately afterwards the check engine light comes on. I think that it used the P1618 to make you aware that there is a transmission issue. I've read up on these and both of my volvo S80's had that same issue.

If you fix the transmission issue and clear the codes, the P1618 should disappear... let me know what you figure out
