I recently was in the market for an s80. I drive a lot so I always buy used with 40-60,000 miles. I did my research online and went off to Miller Volvo in NH to drive a car. I drove the car and liked it. I also took it to my mechanic to take a look. We found some leaking fluid underneath, looked like it was coming from the transmission pan. When I brought it back I let them know it had a leak. They were shocked to find out that I had brought it to my mechanic, as they told me it was a great vehicle. The guy even said little old couple drove it to church. I asked if we could put it on the lift and take a look with one of their Volvo mechanics.
They were very busy, but they could look at it tomorrow. I told them to call me when they had looked. I was told I should just buy the car because they are going to fix whatever it is anyway. I pass.
Salesman calls next day to find out if I am ready to buy. I ask if it has been up on the lift. Nope, tomorrow. This continues for about a week. I am guessing that the transmission was in pretty bad shape because they stopped calling and never did get it onto the lift.
I just feel bad for the next guy that goes in and doesn't have a reliable mechanic in the area.
I don't know how their service is, but I don't think I would go there again for a used vehicle.
