1994 940 Question re dashboard controls

I am planning to buy a 1994 Volvo 940. Question re dashboard: To the right of the switch for rear defroster is a space for another control -- with just a small circular thing in the center, as if the switch has fallen off -- or never existed. Can anyone tell me what normally would be controlled at this space? Thanks much!

I have a 92 -940 and the switch to the right of the rear defroster is the switch for the sunroof,
