2001 V70 central locking issue

Post by 21842k »

My 2001 V70T has what appears to be a central locking issue. After stopping to grab a bite to eat on a long drive from relatives, the rear doors, tailgate door and gas filler door will not open using the interior unlock button or using the unlock button on the key fob. Only the front door locks operate using the key fob or interior button on either driver or passenger side.

I checked the fuses when we got home and all are good. Additionally, the gas gauge and miles to empty tank gauges on the dash stopped functioning after the food break.

Any insight or help is greatly appreciated especially since I need to get gas into the vehicle and right now I can't open the filler door. Thanks.

All problems associated with the rear electronics module (REM). REM seems to lock up at times and needs power removed to restore everything.

Go to the link below and scroll down to the fuel gauge not working (among many other things). Try the battery disconnect/reconnect and follow the correct steps. There is a link in the same section for the battery disconnect/connect procedure. If this doesn't work, check the power going to the REM, there is a main fuse junction with 40amp fuses (7 of them) near the battery. This fuse junction supplies power to the REM and what the REM controls, check battery power into and out of this junction.
