Missing buyers!!!
Missing buyers!!!
Hi all. Can I ask, where have all the buyers for good Volvo's gone? I have an excellent XC70, 52 plate only 91k, metallic blue, full cream leather interior and virtually all the toys you can think of fitted, but NO interest what so ever. I have it advertised almost everywhere, local and national at almost giveaway price, but not one single call. I'm amazed!!!.

Now is a bad time to sell cars. People have spent their money on Christmas presents or are worrying about how they'll pay off their credit card bills after the holidays, so may not have a lot of disposable cash to buy a car. Volvos don't get particularly great gas mileage, so are not in great demand like the econoboxes. The economy sucks and people are struggling to just get by, let alone buy a car. Just my opinion.

Same here in the States, chellenr. What vegasjetskier said... it's a buyer's market right now.
I post what I think are decent Volvos in my Volvo Classifieds section (which you are free to use), and about half of those are cars I've seen three or more times in the last 60 days on Craigslist. They're not selling and they get relisted over and over.
For buyers it's a super time to make a lowball offer and see what happens.

Thanks for both replies so far. Amazingly one of my classified ads thats been running for over a month now, flushed out 2 potential buyers at exactly the sametime this morning. So heres hoping.
I do appreciate its a slow, buyers market at present, but good secondhand Volvos always seem to move- you know where you stand with them, built like tanks and go on for ever.
Anyway, hoping my 2 enquiries come good, shes a fantastic car and deserves a good home.

Well, if you build up a good reputation here, you might find a buyer through this board. A good portion of my traffic is from the UK.
You are free like I said to list cars in the MVS Classifieds, and as an extra boost, list any you have in your forum signature.
User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit Signature
Your signature changes retroactively on all your posts when you change your signature. So if you have 100 posts, and you add "Just in my inventory - Beauty 2004 XC70 - email me" to your signature, it changes on all 100 posts, and any you make in the future.
