240 1990 Seat heater,rear defrost and hi beam/cruise arm etc

Hi All and Happy New Year! I'm having several problems with my baby:

1. My seat heater does not work-the passanger seat does?

2. Rear defrost does not work all the time?

3. problem with high beams-this just started happening. When I try to switch from low to hi beams the headlights go out. They work fine on low beam? Every once in a while it will work but goes out when it wants?

4. The cruise control does not work-it worked once when I got the car but now nothing. I'm wondering if the hi beams and this might mean I need to replace the arm. BTW, turn signals work fine.

1. Both seat heaters work off the same fuse so it is possible the element has stopped working. Check the connector under the seat in case it has worked loose. You can also check for 12 volts at the connector. Replacing the element is possible but not easy.

2.Intermittent electrical faults can be a pain to find. When the rear defrost doesn't work can you still get 4th gear?

3. Two relays to check. The first is in the passenger compartment, location in the first attachment. The second is the high/low beam relay in the engine compartment, location in the second attachment.

The second relay can be badly affected by damp because of its position.

4. There are several things to check before you replace the arm.
Fuse #12 covers both the cruise control and the heated rear window relay. Check the fuse but also check, very carefully, that the fuse contacts are good.
Other things to check can be posted later when you have checked the fuse.

I'm going to check the fuses and the outside relay today. Could you please send the download for the 240 relays? The first one won't download for me but the second did download so I have that. Some work for me and others???
