740 GL , Cold start not working.
Hi, I am in Sydney ( manly vale ) visiting from FNQ. My Volvo has had a bit of work done , but not by a Volvo guy. So cold start no work, once she is warmed up no problem. i also have no speedo, odometer, dash lights.....Dash lights did work after going over bump, now nothing. I am hoping to get someone decent ( honset ) to fix while I am here this week.Any suggestions?

The cold start valve will only operate at temperatures below 5F (-15C) and is controlled by the ECU. Have you checked for any fault codes stored?
Your other problem has all the hallmarks of a bad connection or, a commomn problem on older cars, a faulty electrical portion of the ignition switch. Try jiggling the key in the ignition to see if things start working again.
