New C30

Post by Tsquared »

I received confirmation that the C30 I ordered will be manufactured Feb 4. It should arrive in the states ready for delivery Feb 20. I won't be able to pick it up until the first week of March.

Nice. I have a feeling Feb 3 is going to feel like Christmas Eve :-).

What options, trim, color did you order?

Apologies if you've mentioned this here already. My mind is a swamp of Volvo posts.

Metallic Red, black cloth interior with automatic transmission and cold weather comfort package (heated seated, etc...). This car is for my daughter who just graduated from the University of Georgia - that is why it is red. It is the basic car with just a few options, but even being the base car it has AC and cruise control. It is a 2011 model and it come with 5 yr, 50K warranty and service.

The C30 will be put on the boat February 4 and it will arrive at the dealership March 3. I will be getting back in the states about the same time.

Just wanted to point out that the 2011 model has a 2.5 liter turbo engine. I just noticed the header on the C30 forum has it at 2.3 liter...

Thanks T. I took out the displacement and hp in the forum description, no use keeping up with specifics in something like that.

It's been 6 months and 6k miles. No complaints, as this is a fun little car. It is almost as quick as my 74 Vette. We did a basic oil change at 1000 miles at the dealer for $50. This car was a military sales vehicle and it is not covered by the 5 year service program of the American models. I was able to save almost 6 grand off sticker with the military sales.

I have a 3-5 year plan on a C70 the same way but to take delivery in Europe and spend about 6 weeks in Europe and then have the car shipped to Atlanta. The C70 Plan is when my wife retires in 3 years.

It has 7K miles on it and it is running great. Gas mileage has been 24.9 around town and 30ish on the interstate - average overall has been 26.2 mpg.

I was on a 5 hour trip in the C30 this Thanksgiving holiday. This is the longest trip I have taken to date. The gas mileage was right at 30 MPG at speed limit (+5) traveling. The on board computer was 1 MPG higher than actual millage.

The only issue I had was after 4 hours my tail had gone numb in the seat. The seats are comfortable on short trips but on the longer trips it just isn't there. The seat is smaller than the one in the 850 and my F150 so you do not have any wiggle room.

But what a easy car to drive in 70 MPH heavy traffic, easy to change lanes and enough power to got around obstacles with ease.

It's been another year - no issues and the clock is now at 20K miles. Still stock and still a fun car to drive.
