Hi. We have a 98 XC70 that my dh uses for commuting. Our battery died over the holidays and so did the radio. We entered the code and let the car run for 2 hours- radio didn't work. Then we did it again and left the ignition in the "run" position for 2 hours, still didn't work.
Any suggestions?? He's in the car for 3 hours per day without a radio and I don't want him wearing headphones while driving!!
Thanks in advance!
Michele

First, it reads CODE, then we put the code in and it immediately reads EEEE
it does this each time we enter the code- after three tries it goes to OFF. We first called the dealer for the code, then found the card, and both codes match. Is it possible that everyone has the wrong code??
Also, now that it's reading OFF, do we have to keep the ignition on for 2 hours so it'll read CODE again?? Not that it matters, as the code doesn't seem to be working.
Thanks!

Werid.
It should work, yes. Yea, you have to leave the key in position I or II for one or two hours. If it still doesn't work, I'l take the radio out and get the serial from it and call the dealer with that. The two prongy things on the sides pop out and you pull it out from there.
