82 turbo fuel/electrical? Stalling

I have this 82 turbo with 163k on it and the problem is that it will start fine
and drive for about 1 mile when cold then it will sputter and die when warmed up. Even with lite throttle it bucks sputters and just quits. Turn the key to restart and fires right up but cannot drive. The intank pump is working and the main pump is very loud. There are no cracked wires they are in good shape. I have ordered a new main fuel pump to replace, is there anything else that could cause this problem? They didn't have computers in cars then(1982) ....did they?
No vacuum leaks and injectors are good. Timing belt has about 15k on it
All fuses good
Replaced fuel filter
new plugs wires cap & coil rotor
K tronic ci
Just a thought, it doesn't sound like a fuel problem but more electrical but will replace the fuel pump when it gets here.
Car has had very good maintenance: late mother 2nd owner me the 3rd.

They didn't have computers in cars then(1982) ....did they?

There was an electronic engine management system. Not as complex as today's systems but could go wrong, sometimes.

It may well be an electrical problem but the main fuel pump shouldn't be "very loud". It may be working but pushing enough fuel through when it warms up. Fit the replacement and post back.
