95 T5 air con probs in steamy Australia.

Australia calling, good day mates.
95 T5 wagon. I have been having problems with my air con cutting out occasionally, it just goes dead, so I switch off and after several tries and nearly an hour later, it comes back on? It's been pretty hot here lately with a humid 90 f in the shade today, (sympathies to you folk in the snow bound north) so it's working hard. I have just pulled the codes for my climate control and get 232 which is "ventilation damper motor position centre shortened to earth" and 323 which is "ventilation damper motor active too long" Does this have any relevance to my problem or is it just a minor unrelated fault.
Any ideas appreciated.

I'ver got the same problem here in France, but seeing the date of your post I suspect that I'd be better off going off for a quick tug than to expect any sod will ansewer your question.

How do you pull the codes out and mine is doing the exact same thing right now. Some guy has talked about a return hose problem.
