So for some reason Vicki has an insatiable appetite for Oil. It's not being burned and it looks to be leaking from somewhere from the head/block on the inlet side of the engine between it and the rad. The whole area, including AC compressor and alternator, inside of bumper are tarnished with Oil.
I tried to have a look, but its hard to see and I cant pinpoint the source. Looks like I'll have to pull the inlet manifold to get a better look. Any thoughts on where it could be leaking this much Oil? I do about 30miles a day!! I had a look in VADIS and it mentioned some sort of porosity issue, but I doubt that would cause a loss of 1QT/day.
Any thoughts?

OK so last night I took a whack at this. I got down to the oil trap, theres lots of oil in the general vicinity, but nothing to say for sure its leaking from there. I managed to snap the connector on the R/H side of it (Not the one on the top) being impatient, the rubber pipe that was attached to it is more like solid plastic, doesnt seem to be blocked however. Looks like a really small diameter pipe is broken too. I'll have to order a new Oil trap and oring seal. The clamp on the bottom pipe that goes to the block seemed to be pretty loose, so I wonder if it was leaking from there.
There was some crud in the holes in the block, especially the bottom hole, but they didnt appear to be blocked. The separator didnt seem to be blocked either, but I cleaned it out with carb cleaner anyway. What else does one usually clean when doing the PCV system on the T6? I.e what would the the ideal way to go? There seems to be an electronic valve at the inlet pipe too, does this need to be checked. The one of the aluminum pipes seems to be pinched, but not closed fully at the oil trap end.
Since I put it all back together, the car prettymuch dies if I give it more than 1/4 throttle. It doesnt misfire or anything, just has no power. Any thoughts on a common assembly mistake that I might have made? I checked everything over, however it was midnight when I did this. The situation improves as the car heats up. eg cold I can just about get it up to 30MPH, later on after a while in the middle I can get it up to about 50. I had a SES for the Pre cat O2 before I did this, so I have an SES light and havn't had a chance to pull codes yet. I did reuse the inlet gasket, so thats a possible trouble area too.

Just to add, the message center only has a message for emission service required, no reduced performance message.

Well, over 100 miles now and the oil level hasnt changed on the dipstick, so thats a noteable improvement.
The actual fix for the oil "hemorrhaging": Tightened the hose clamp on the block side of the short pipe at the bottom of the oil trap. The trap and pipes appeared to be clear so I don't think they caused the issue.
Still having peformance issues that seem to improve as the motor gets warmer. At best however I can use 1/2 throttle. I got it up to 80 on the freeway yesterday after I had been driving it around for about 30mins. On the way to work this morning I was lucky to get it up to 50 at first, then later on it could be coaxed to 60.
It looks like a repeat of the issue that happened when I first got it. At that stage it appeared to run fine when I added premium to it. I topped it off with 92 last night to no avail. I've noticed noise that sounds like the wastegates opening when I punch it, so I wonder if its the boost pressure sensor? Only other things I can think of is a fuel delivery problem, clogged filter perhaps? I'm confident its not a boost leak.
Any thoughts on what might cause a drop in power whereby it basically goes dead above 1/4 - 1/2 throttle (depending on how long its been running for) and wont allow it to rev beyond around 2800RPM while in gear are appreciated.

How are the spark plugs?
Could you have knocked off the wire to the coolant temp sensor when you worked on the PCV?

Spark plugs are on my ToDo list for this weekend along with Airfilter. .028"/.7mm I believe is the correct gap?
Where does the CTS love? For sure the cabin temp gauge is working, but sometimes they will have a separate sensor.
I also removed the MAF and it made no difference. I might compare the P/N for the pressure sensor for the T5 and the T6. If its the same P/N ill switch em out and see if theres an improvement.

IIRC, it's in the thermostat housing by where the radiator hose connects.boosted5cyl wrote:Where does the CTS love?
