960 1994 Noise from near centre of Dash board.

I have a strange noise coming from the dash board, I mentioned this in an earlier post but I think it needed clarification.

The noise is hard to describe appears to be a crackling sort of a sound which last approx 2-3 seconds when the ignition is turned on.
It also happens when turning the ignition but doesn't seem to last as long.

The noise appears to be coming behind or underneath or near to the centre A/C vents..

I have noticed that when turning the ignition on and off approx 3 time the noise seems to disappear on the 4th occasion.

There doesn't appear to be anything going array as a result just annoying.

Noise is still there whether A/c is turned on or not.

You have a relay board in that area. It could be one of the relays activating when you switch on and shutting down when you switch off.
