Will a 98 s70 non turbo fit in a 2000 s70 non turbo? if so, what modifications are needed and is it worth the cost?
i have a tank of an engine in my 98 and an awesome condition 2000 is being sold with a blown engine...thinking i can get it for 6 or 700 bucks.
any input is appreciated
s70 engine compatibility
I was thinking of something similar.
The biggest hurdle, as I see it, is the differences with wiring,ie: harnesses are not compatiable, control units are not compatiable, I'm not even think any of the body wiring will work.
The 2000 is more advanced in the CAN network system, and I think it'll be alot of silly extra things that'll be a hassle. Now if it's going to be an autocrosser and you don't need everything to work exactly like it would from the factory, yes you can do it.

The engine itself is almost identical. The only difference is that the 00 s70 has CVVT and a electronic throttle body so those would have to be swapped over. Other then that, I am pretty sure they are the same. I know the short blocks are at least.
