Post by RCR »

For a couple of days i thought the whole forum was down then found a thread link I had saved that worked to get in. If you go to the board index it shows a blank screen and a fatal error code some one please fix this!

Hi RCR,

Well, that's weird. Not saying it's not happening, just saying that sort of thing is usually broken for everybody or nobody. Try this: on that page, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click Refresh with the mouse on your browser. That should get an entirely new page from the server, images and all. Let me know if that fixes it.

thx
Matt

Thanks bro that worked and now I can access the index. Been on message boards for years but I have never seen anything like that happen. Any idea what caused it??

Yes - I've been under the hood on this site almost every night in the last 10 days or so making substantial changes. Theoretically, your browser should ask the server "do I have the latest everything that's associated with this page?" and if not, the browser and server work together to make sure you do get the latest. What happens in practice is sometimes your browser has a new page, but not the latest CSS file(s) or whatever, and things go downhill quickly. Doing a forced refresh gets everything, bar none.
