Hi
I just bought a 2000 S80 with 80,000 miles. I was told when I purchased the car that it needed some work: new O2 sensor, needed new hoses, and had a power steering leak.
Well I took it to a guy that was recommended by a neighbor and got a slightly different story. He said it didn’t need an O2 sensor, that the hoses were fine and that the leak was coming from the rack but that it wasn’t hurting the performance and to just add stop leak instead of replacing it the rack. I have the money to replace the rack but this guy didn’t seem interested in doing the work. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the Austin area? I would like to get another opinion on what really needs to be done to make sure that this problem doesn’t get worse. Or is this something that should just live with. The car drives like a dream and honestly it is the nicest car I’ve ever owned and I would like it to last. Thanks for any advice.
Can anyone recommend a mechanic in Austin, Texas?
