Just fix mine lasr week,work for a moment and stop restart after a while,desasemble the blower motor and found the brush stuck in the holder(gently loose it from) and it work fine no more noise ,$200.00 us for an electrolux motor no way,,Bertrand

I strongly suggest that you spend a few units of your local currency to get yourself a Haynes or similar manual. From the Volvo 850 Haynes manual these codes are:

1-2-4
Driver's side interior temperature sensor open circuit or shorted to 12 volts.

4-1-1
Blower fan seized or drawing excessive current.

4-1-8
No control signal to blower fan power stage.

Also, you should indicate which sensor array generated the codes. In your case, it was the B1 sensor. Most of the internet postings give the codes for the A2 engine control sensor. These will not help you in this case.
