Road Noise S60 '04

Post by Aarondawg »

Hey there,

I just bought a S60 2.5 T with 59K miles. I notice that it has a lot of road noise especially on the freeway when it seems like it competes with my radio\CD. I have Michelin All Weather Tires which only have 15K miles on them. I had the tires rotated yesteday and balanced and the noise is still present. Is this the norm for this Model? Also on city streets when I start to get near 40MPH the noise starts picks up and on a rough patch of road, the noise takes over. I want to keep the car but it's so loud. I had a '98 S70 before and I don't remember it being this loud.

I was thinking about taking it to a Volvo Mechanic and having the driving but would like to save the fee for such until I (we) can determine what it may be.

:?

Thank you,
Aarondawg

Have you tried a different set of tires?

I've hated every set of Michelin tires I've ever had on a vehicle. They're some of the noisiest tires ever made. I switched from the worn-out Michelins that came on mine when I bought it to a set of BF Goodrich's, and the only thing you hear anymore is the noisy engine and wind
