This morning (2nd time this has happened) temperture was about 20 degrees. Heater fan would not work. The REC and OFF amber leds were flashing. I have noticed the fan is rather SQUEAKY and SQUEALLY at times when it is working. Drove to work with no heat! Brrrrrr!
This afternoon, the fan worked normally. The variable speed slide pot worked like it should work. Now my questions are this:

Does this sound like the Resistor pack?
Does it sound like the fan Motor is bad or Both?

I found a slaughtered 99 V70 in the wrecking yard with the dash already removed (hooray!) Easy fan access. Removed the fan and was looking for a resistor pack. At the time I didn't know where to look. I thought all the black box locations next to the fan looked like damper motors so I left them. I have also found a 95 855T but I can't tell if it has auto or manual
climate control since the controls are missing.

Next question does it matter if the fan motor is from an Auto climate car or one that has manual heater controls. I know there is a difference in the auto and manual resistor packs. ANyways, I couldn't get the 95's motor out because of that big "Metal Can" looking dumaflaugy up under the passenger side dash needing a 13mm socket. Didn't have 1 with me. I will return there tommorrow to retrieve whatever I need based on the response here on the board. Here is a discription of the Fan i pulled from the 99 V70. Has the same Mounting locations as the 95 855t. It only has 2 male spade terminals at the very bottom of the fan

Does the 93-97 850's fan motors only have 2 spade terminals? If so then i will go back to get the fan i pulled.
