High oil consumption 05 V70

I have a 05 V70 2.4 non turbo 95K that's using more then 4 qts every 5K. I'm using Castrol 10/30. I bought the car new and have chg the oil every 5K and have noticed increased oil comsumption in the last year. I have never serviced the oil trap system. Volvo recommends replacing at 120K. Could this be causing high oil use? I see no smoke nor leaks. I understand in 03 Volvo chg the oil trap system so it dosen't blow out seals anymore. Thank you.
